A man was recently arrested after he exposed his genitals at the Golden Triangle Mall. It is uncertain if the event took place inside or outside of the mall. As a result, a report for disorderly conduct was filed.

If you have been arrested for indecent exposure in Denton, you should not hesitate to immediately obtain the assistance of a skilled criminal defense lawyer because conviction of indecent exposure can result in very serious consequences including jail time and significant fines. Many people who are charged with indecent exposure, however, feel uncomfortable obtaining the assistance of an attorney to discuss the details of their case. This article reviews some of the risks associated with indecent exposure to emphasize why people who are charged with this offense should speak with a seasoned criminal defense attorney.

Important Laws Regarding Indecent Exposure

A woman in the Denton area was recently accused of striking her son more than five times on the head before law enforcement arrested the woman and charged her with injury to a child. After law enforcement arrived at the home, the child’s father reported that he had never seen the mother so angry. The father also told law enforcement that the child had picked up the woman’s tablet to play with in the bathroom but was not supposed to do so, which led to the argument. Subsequently, the woman was taken to the Denton City Jail in lieu of a $10,000 bail. Child Protective Services were also called to the scene of the incident to investigate the crime.

If you have been charged with injury to a child in Denton or the surrounding area, it is a wise idea to speak with a knowledgeable attorney who understands how these charges arise and who can help create a strong defense. It often also helps to understand some of the various details about the law.

Elements Required to Establish a Charge of Injury to a Child

A Denton law enforcement officer was recently injured at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital while guarding an inmate who was also a patient at the hospital. The event occurred when the inmate attempted to run out of the hospital room when part of the inmate’s restraint system was removed. When the law enforcement officer approached the inmate, the officer fell and struck his face on part of a window. Law enforcement later caught the inmate on hospital property and charged him with failure to identify as a fugitive and escape resulting in bodily injury, which is classified as a first degree felony in the state of Texas. The inmate was initially arrested on a charge of possession of a controlled substance between 4 and 200 grams. The inmate also had three outstanding warrants in Denton County for theft of a firearm. The inmate is currently being held at the Denton County Jail.

Escape resulting in bodily injury in the state of Texas is grouped into several crimes that generally relate to actions that work against the government’s processes. The penalties associated with this offense can be particularly serious, which is why it is important that anyone facing these charges seeks the help of a criminal defense attorney.

Situations in Which Escape Charges Arise

Law enforcement officers recently arrested three men during an investigation about two stolen motorcycles. One of the men was charged with possession of a controlled substance. A second man was charged with theft of a firearm. The third man was charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle as well as evading arrest. The arrest occurred after a law enforcement officer spotted a motorcycle on Interstate 35 with a truck following the bike. Law enforcement proceeded pull over the motorcyclist because the plates on the bicycle were bent. After law enforcement approached the motorcyclist, the rider proceeded to flee the scene. Law enforcement officers later found the motorcycle at another location, which led to the discovery of the stolen motorcycles. After searching one of the vehicles, law enforcement discovered a bag of unused syringes in a storage compartment as well as 3.5 grams of methamphetamine located inside a can of Arizona Iced Tea. A gram of black tar heroin was also discovered.
